The constitutive meeting of the Tenkanen–Tengén Family Association (Tenkanen–Tengén Sukuseura ry) was held on November 4 in 1956 in Tampere. Tenkanen–Tengén Sukuseura is a registered association having two organs: family meeting and family council. Family meetings have been arranged by the year 2012 altogether 18 times, normally once every three years. The most recent meeting was held on June 16, 2012 in Tampere.
Usually the family meetings have been arranged as festive family reunions during the summertime so that the actual meetings have been followed by a luncheon and program with musical performances, presentations, etc. The family reunions in years 1983, 1986 and 1992 were filmed by Reino Tenkanen.
The association has currently (in 2025) altogether 246 members, of which 5 honorary members, 78 single (“regular”) members, 61 family members, 63 spouse members and 39 child members.
